
Tripura increases monthly allowance for persons with more than 60% disability from ₹2,000 to ₹5,000
Agartala, August 21: In a major welfare initiative, the government has decided to launch the Mukhyamantri Kanya Bibaha Yojana. Under this scheme, daughters belonging to Antyodaya families will be provided a financial grant of 50,000 for marriage.The decision was taken at the state cabinet meeting held on August 20.Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat today, Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that several key issues related to the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education were approved in the meeting.The Minister informed that under the Chief Minister’s Antyodaya Shraddhajanji Yojana, the financial assistance for funeral expenses of Antyodaya families has been raised from ₹2,000 to ₹10,000.Additionally, a new initiative titled Chief Minister’s Scheme for Mentally Challenged Persons will soon be launched. Under this scheme, mentally challenged individuals will receive a monthly allowance of ₹5,000.Chowdhury further said that the cabinet has also approved the recruitment of candidates for four vacant posts of Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) under the Social Welfare and Social Education Department. The recruitment process will be conducted through TPSC.
